Interlocking Bricks: Density and Compressive Strength Reduction Due to Addition of Kaolin Clay and RHA

This study investigates the density and compressive strength of interlocking bricks made mortar added with kaolin clay as cement replacement RHA for sand replacement. research also investigated chemical composition used bricks. The was designed based on concrete mix proportion 1:2:3 but removed coarse aggregate. water-to-cement ratio utilized 0.6. Each design comprises a combination at 5%, 10% 15% by total weight sand, respectively. paper demonstrates elements reports comparedto control samples. results indicate that decreases percentage increases. containing 5% showed highest 28 days, values were smaller than mix.In comparison to mix, finding is follows. At range reduction from day 3 all mixes between 16 25%. Meanwhile, decreased more 65%, measured in same duration. result silicon dioxide (SiO2) contributes most significant element RHA. Kaolin contains almost 65% SiO2, while holds 90% SiO2.
